Huskies Record Season-High 114 Points in Rout of Bobcats

SASKATOON, Sask. - The No. 1 team in the nation and defending national champions doubled down against the visiting Brandon Bobcats Saturday night (Nov. 29), sweeping the weekend series with a second consecutive lopsided victory. The Huskies earned a 114-50 victory, marking their largest point total and margin of victory now at the midway point of the 2025-26 campaign. The win, which extended the Huskies perfect start to the season to ten games, was also the second time the team has reached double figures this season.

It what was yet another complete team effort, each dressing student-athlete for the Dogs found the scoresheet with Logan Reider leading the way a 23-point performance. In what marked her fourth 20+ point game this season, the fourth-year Saskatoon product was stellar from beyond the arc, knocking down five of nine attempts while adding four assists, two steals, and two blocks. Maya Flindall followed closely behind on the final boxscore, registering 22 points on a 7-of-9 shooting performance. Gage Grassick (18 points), Olivia Harm (12 points), and Téa DeMong also reach double-digit point totals.

For the visiting Bobcats, Ella Averill was the lone player to surpass the 10-point mark, recording 13. The visiting team spent the majority of the game looking to gain traction on offence, rotating through their bench and seeing 10 student-athletes record as least a point.

In what proved to be yet another outstanding defensive performance, the Huskies held the Bobcats to just 27.4% from the field while totaling 11 steals and five blocks while committing just six turnovers themselves. at the offensive end of the court, Saskatchewan was an efficient 51.8% while flexing their rebounding prowess for the second consecutive night, owning a 45-28 advantage which featured 18 off the offensive glass.

After coming out of the gates hot and building a 25-7 first quarter lead, the top-ranked team never took their foot off the gas and outscored the visitors 34-12 before the half. The starting lineup then recorded 31 third-quarter points before the Huskies closed out their 10th win of the season with a 24-15 final frame.

Heading into the Christmas break, Saskatchewan remains one of four undefeated teams left in Canada West with each team residing in the conference's Prairie Division. Upon returning to the court in January they will face with each of those teams, starting with the Alberta Pandas on January 9 & 10 in Edmonton. After a trip to Lethbridge they will then return to the province of Saskatchewan for the remainder of the season, with home weekends scheduled against Calgary and Winnipeg and a home-and-home series with Regina in between.
