FB PREVIEW: 2024 Huskie Spring Camp

SASKATOON, SK - The 2024 football season officially begins on Thursday (May 2) at the University of Saskatchewan with the return of the Huskies back onto the turf at Griffiths Stadium at Nutrien Park for the 2024 edition of Spring Camp. 21 recruits will join returning players and take the field at Griffiths stadium for the first time, taking part in three practices before the weekend culminates with the Green & White game.

"I think this year we will see the next evolution of the Huskies," says Scott Flory, who is getting ready for his 8th spring camp as head coach. "We have graduated some senior guys who have been leaders over the past few years but now it is time for the next generation of players to move into those roles. This season provides a real opportunity for that new core group of third- and fourth-year players to take the reins. We are excited to get everyone back on the turf and get back to our roots as a team in 2024."

New Recruits to Watch
Offence
Javin Boynton (RB - Moose Jaw, SK): "Javin has everything you look for in a running back. He is big, fast, athletic, and physical while running the ball so we have high expectations for how he will fit into our offence."

Cohen Wright (QB - Calgary, AB): "We are excited to have Cohen, who has Saskatchewan roots and is a former provincial champion in Calgary, join us. He brings a good arm and mobility to the position while being poised and a strong leader in the huddle."

Defence
Jacob Goldstone (LB - Regina, SK): "After graduating some athletes at the linebacker position and seeing some guys head to the next level, we have some roles to fill in the middle of our defence. We believe Jacob can do that for us in short order and become a high-impact player."

Riece Kack (DL - Saskatoon, SK): "A two-time junior all-Canadian with the Hilltops, we expect Riece to be in the mix of guys who will become impact players early in the season on our defensive line."
