SASKATOON, Sask. - After a thriller on Friday night that saw the Manitoba Bisons narrowly edge out the Saskatchewan Huskies in a shootout, the two teams decided another tightly-contested game was in order on Saturday (Nov. 9) at the Ron & Jane Centre Court in the Physical Activity Complex. It was once again the Herd who came out on top, defeating the Dogs 70-67 thanks to a 7-point advantage in the fourth quarter. With the win, the Bisons improved to 3-0 while the Huskies are still in search of their first win of the season with an 0-4 record.
Saturday's rematch saw both teams receive a 20-point performance, with Saskatchewan's
Emmanuel Bonsu totaling a season-high 20 points and Manitoba's Mason Kraus following up a 26-point outing last night with a game-hight 23. Kraus also led the game in three-point shooting, downing four triples to lead the Bisons to the win.
After entering the second quarter trailing the visiting team by by six, launched an impressive effort in the second frame holding Manitoba to just 10 points while netting 19 of their own. The second quarter effort was led by Bonsu,
Griffin Sharkey, and Owwn Murphy Wiebe who each recorded four points to give the Dogs a three-point advantage at the half.
Heading into the final frame up by four, the two teams played to a 66-66 stalemate before three fouls in the final 21 seconds allowed Manitoba to pull out the win and weekend sweep.
Saskatchewan and Manitoba displayed similar efforts on the stat sheet with 34 points in the paint each and a single-point difference in second chance points. The difference maker however was points off turnovers, with the Bisons holding a 20-16 advantage.

The Huskies return home for back-to-back weekends on the Ron & Jane Centre Court, as the team is set to host the Alberta Golden Bears next Friday (Nov. 15) and Saturday night (Nov. 16). The Bisons also return to their home court, hosting the Regina Cougars in a weekend series.
