Logan Reider's Record-Setting Night Leads Huskies Over Wolfpack

KAMLOOPS, B.C. - Third-year guard Logan Reider produced a record-setting performance Saturday night (Nov. 30) at the Tournament Capital Centre in Kamloops to lead the Saskatchewan Huskies to another convincing 96-36 victory over the Thompson Rivers Wolfpack.

Reider, a local product of Saskatoon, finished the game with a career-high 40 points, thanks in large to her impressive shooting display from beyond the arc. The education major connected on 11 of 14 attempts from three-point range and 14 of 18 from the field. In doing so, she cemented her place in the program record books, setting a new regular season single-game record for points and three-pointers made.

Her outing also joined the ranks of the all-time shooting performances in the history of U SPORTS women's basketball, tying the single-game national record. Reider joins Winnipeg's Sandra Carroll who initially set the record in a 1995 matchup with Regina, and Brittany Moore of the Queen's Gaels who became the second student-athlete to record 11 triples in a 2009 game against the Royal Military College.

In addition to Reider's one-of-a-kind performance, Gage Grassick and Téa DeMong also played key roles in the Dogs' lopsided victory. Grassick, the conferences leader in assists with 52 on the season, added six more while recording 15 points, 2 rebounds, and a block. DeMong meanwhile finished with 11 points, six rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal.

Forward Courtney Primeau also produced a game-high performance with 14 rebounds in the win while adding seven points the Saskatchewan's total.

The Huskies were once again outstanding defensively, allowing no more than 11 points in a quarter and holding the Wolfpack to six and nine in the first and fourth periods. Thompson Rivers committed turned the ball over 27 times in the contest as they took on one of the best defences in the nation, with the Dogs capitalizing to the tune of 32 points off turnovers.

With the win, the Dogs have now won six straight with their last loss coming to the Calgary Dinos on the conference's season-opening weekend. With a record of 6-2, Saskatchewan sits in a tie for second place in the Canada West prairie division with Regina Cougars.

The Huskies head to the winter break now and will return to action on January 10 and 11, 2025 when they host the Mount Royal Cougars on the Ron & Jane Graham Centre Court at the Physical Activity Complex.
