SASKATOON, SK - After the postponement of Friday night's home opener against the Calgary Dinos due to air quality concerns, the Huskie men's soccer team hosted the Mount Royal Cougars on Sunday evening at Griffiths Stadium. After a defensive battle in the first half of the match, the Huskies fell 1-0 to the Cougars, before the game was called early in the 76th minute due to rapidly deteriorating air quality.

GAME NOTES
The first half of the match was heavy on the defense, as both teams struggled to capitalize on offensive opportunities. Halftime would come with no points on the scoreboard and the Huskies leading shots on goal 2-0.

Early in the second half, MRU's Dawid Dudek, assisted by Skylar Rodgers, found the back of the Huskies net, taking the lead for the Cougars. MRU had two additional shots on goal, both saved by Huskies goalkeeper, Jaron Slopinski. The Huskies struggled to find any further opportunities to get shots on goal before the game was called early.

The Cougars out-shot the Huskies 8-6 with three shots on goal. Both Slopinski and Dumouun would have great games in net, having two saves a piece in the shortened game. MRU finished the game with five corner kicks, Saskatchewan going without.
