WSOC: Strong Start Gives Huskies the Win Over Pandas

EDMONTON, AB  - Three goals in the opening 22 minutes propelled the Saskatchewan Huskies to a 3-1 win over the Alberta Pandas on Sunday afternoon at Foote Field.

Caitlin Stove scored the opener inside five minutes, followed by a pair of goals from Alyssa D'Agnone, including a penalty kick goal. Huskie keeper Nadia Kalyar was terrific in the win, stopping 10 of the 11 Pandas shots she faced. Kaylar made six saves in the second half alone, nullifying any hopes of an Alberta comeback.

Alberta outshot Saskatchewan 14-11, including 11-6 on target. They also held a 8-4 advantage in corner kicks, but struggled maintaining possession deep in the Saskatchewan half.

The win marks the Huskies first win over the Pandas since October 22, 2019.
