SASKATOON, SK – The Saskatchewan Huskies were back at Merlis Belsher Place on Saturday night to take on the Regina Cougars in U-Prairie Challenge action. The Huskies offence was the deciding factor as they nabbed the 4-1 win over the Cougars.

Jessica Patterson as the starting five for the Huskies, with
Camryn Drever in net. The Cougars went with Jenna Merk, Rachel O'Toole, Hannah Pennell, Paige Hubbard, and Ireland Sorestad as their starters, with goaltender Arden Kliewer.
The Huskies offence dominated the first period as
Paris Oleksyn would open scoring in the game at 7:32 into the first. She was quickly followed by
Jasper Desmarais at 8:56.
Mallory Dyer would add her fourth goal of the season at 13:47 into the period. Saskatchewan would head into the second with a 3-0 lead over the Cougars.
The second period would see aggressive play from both teams, and it showed in the penalty minutes. Regina would spend six minutes in the penalty box, with Saskatchewan having eight penalty minutes. The Cougars would grab their lone goal of the game at 10:58, with Hannah Pennell grabbing her sixth goal of the season. Less than a minute later,
Sara Kendall would slip one past Kliewer to give the Huskies the 4-1 lead and the eventual win.
The win keeps the Huskies in fifth place in the Canada West standings. The Huskies take to the ice in a rare Sunday game tomorrow in a rematch against the Cougars.
