MHKY: Saskatchewan Win 7-2 Over TWU

LANGLEY, BC – The Trinity Western Spartans had their hands full in a Saturday night rematch with the Saskatchewan Huskies. The Huskies scored early and never let the Spartans recover as they earned the weekend sweep with a 7-2 win. The win moves the Huskies to 12-4-4, while the loss drops the Spartans to 2-17-1.

TWU's Berk Berkeliev made 53 saves in the loss, while Saskatchewan's Jordan Kooy made 25 saves to record the win.

Saskatchewan scored two goals in just over a minute in the first half of the opening period to take an early 2-0 lead over Trinity Western. Alec Zawatsky scored at 6:21 and Connor Hobbs scored at 7:27 to give the Huskies a 2-0 lead at the end of the first period.

The Huskies made it three straight when Justin Ball found the back of the TWU net 40 seconds into the second period. TWU's Jeremy Klessens single-handedly got the Spartans back in the game with two straight goals, at 1:37 and 5:58, to make it a one-goal game with TWU trailing 3-2.
