WINNIPEG — The University of Saskatchewan Huskies women's volleyball team ripped off their fifth-straight win with a 3-0 (25-20, 25-15, 25-22) victory over the Winnipeg Wesmen.

After going down 2-0 on Friday to begin the weekend with a bit of a scare, before coming back to win in a five-set marathon, the Huskies rallied off three-consecutive set wins.

The win put a seal on what was a tremendous first-half of the season for Saskatchewan, who hold a 5-1 record and sit atop of the Canada West's east division. 

Emily Koshinsky had a game-high 12 kills for Saskatchewan, while Mandi Fraser had game-high five blocks. 

Koshinsky's 13.5 points on the evening helped her move inside the Canada West's career conference leaders in points with 1296.5 to her name.

Emma Parker led the way for the Wesmen, recording ten kills in the losing effort.

Saskatchewan was a more efficient team on the evening, finishing the contest with a .259 hitting percentage, in comparison to Winnipeg's .119 clip.

With a bye next weekend, the Huskies aren't back in action until Jan. 14, when they take on the Brandon Bobcats at the PAC in a two-game weekend series.
