SASKATOON – After another outstanding season for the University of Saskatchewan Huskies women's hockey team, a pair of key players earned conference honours Wednesday.
For the second year in a row
Leah Bohlken was recognized as one of the top five players in all of Canada West as she was named a First Team All-Star. Playing in her fifth and final year of eligibility Bohlken, a product of Moose Jaw, finished with five goals and six assists on the year. A defenceman, Bohlken was integral to the Huskies' third-place conference finish this season racking up a mark of plus-eight on the year.
Earning conference honours for the first time in her Huskie career,
Bailee Bourassa was named a Second Team All-Star. Bourassa led the way offensively for the Huskies all season long, racking up 12 goals and seven assists for a team-high 19 points. The product of Weyburn was especially dominant on the power play where she finished fourth in the conference with six player-advantage tallies.
With their two all-stars Saskatchewan, who tied a program-best mark of seven consecutive wins in the second half of the season, had the third-most players selected to first and second team honours in the conference, behind only Alberta and Calgary and tied with Regina.
