CALGARY - The University of Saskatchewan Huskies got production from throughout their line up in an important 3-1 victory over the Mount Royal Cougars in Calgary Friday night.

The set scores were: 25-19, 13-25, 25-20, and 25-22.

Saskatchewan was able to widen the gap between themselves and the Cougars in the conference standings with the win. The Huskies now hold a record of 9-8, good enough to slot into a tie with the Calgary Dinos in sixth place and now two games clear of the eighth place Cougars.

For Saskatchewan,
Daulton Sinoski led with 17 points, 13 of which were kills. For Mount Royal, Chris Byam led with 15 points, also with 13 kills.

The Huskies opened the scoring for the night with a quick service ace from
Connor Murray. The teams were neck-and-neck until Saskatchewan pulled ahead at seven points to hold onto a healthy lead. Mount Royal fought to bring the score within just three points, but the Huskies capitalized on kill opportunities to run away with the score. A quick kill from Sinoski sealed the set.

Mount Royal started off strong in the second. Byam landed a series of kills to hold them in a wide lead, jumpingat least seven points ahead. Saskatchewan's
Cole Burkart was on fire to try and keep his team in the set, but the Cougars held onto their lead to win the set.

After Saskatchewan won a tight third set, the fourth was an absolute battle. Saskatchewan was able to pull ahead in the final three points before setter
Mark Armstrong, making his first start of the season, skied above the net for a solo block to record the victory.

The two teams will face off once more for the season on Saturday, February 1st, on Kenyon Court. It will be broadcast live on CanadaWest.tv, presented by Co-op.
