SASKATOON - The University of Saskatchewan Huskies women's volleyball team will continue their home stand when they play host to the Manitoba Bisons this weekend at the PAC, with games getting underway at at 6 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 18 and Saturday, Jan. 19.
Â
The Huskies will be looking to rebound from being swept by the Regina Cougars as they continue their chase towards a spot in the postseason. With the top eight teams in the Canada West qualifiying for the playoffs, Saskatchewan currently sits on the outside looking in, as they enter the weekend four points out with eight games remaining.
Â
Meanwhile, the Bisons enter the matchup going in the opposite direction, as they are in the midst of a three-game winning streak. Manitoba is currently sitting at 8-8 and in a tie along with the Regina Cougars and Thompson Rivers Wolfpack for sixth place in the conference.
Â
Saskatchewan recorded the series sweep over Manitoba in their matchup last season, with the Huskies picking up consecutive 3-1 victories. The road team has a 7-0 record in the past seven meetings between the teams, dating back to Jan. 24, 2015.
