SASKATOON - The reigning Canada West Champion and current U SPORTS No. 1 ranked Calgary Dinos are the opposition this weekend for a University of Saskatchewan Huskies women's volleyball team playing their first home games of the 2018-19 season.

The Huskies will be looking to get back into the win column after a difficult weekend in Edmonton saw the team swept by the MacEwan Griffins (3-1, 3-1).

There will be lots of offensive firepower on display when two of the most efficient attacking teams in the conference take to the court on Nov. 9 & 10 with identical start times of 6:00 p.m.

Five Things

1: This will be the Huskies first weekend at home after beginning their schedule with two series on the road

2: Calgary has recorded the most kills per set (13.69) in the conference with Saskatchewan not far behind in fifth (11.69).

3: The Dinos are one of three CW teams in the top 4 of the U SPORTS national rankings.

4: Five Huskies have double-digit kills through their first four games

5: This is the first of three weekends the Huskies will play at home before the winter break.

Scouting the Dinos

Calgary has won all four of their games so far this season, dropping just a single set in the process. The Dinos have started their season with wins over Thompson Rivers (3-0, 3-0) as well as Regina (3-1, 3-0) with both of those games taking place on home court.

Kate Pexman leads the team with 51 kills, although the Dinos have put such an early end to their games that Pexman is only 15th in the conference.
