Box Score Three third period goals solidified a University of Saskatchewan Huskies' comeback in a 5-3 win over the visiting University of Lethbridge Pronghorns Saturday night in Saskatoon's Rutherford Rink.
Down 3-2 entering the final 20 minutes, the Huskies' leading scorers Josh Roach and Craig McCallum scored to lift the Saskatchewan to the win. Matthew Spafford scored the empty net insurance goal in the dying seconds.
Roach tied the game at three at 4:25 in the third period after streaking down the right side of the ice. His shot beat Lethbridge goalie Damien Kelto five-hole. McCallum gave the Huskies the 4-3 lead with just under four minutes left in the game on a 'Horns turnover in front of the net. McCallum's quick shot flew over Kelto at 16:03. Spafford's empty net, his second goal of the game, was scored at 19:58.

With the win, the Huskies improve to 9-9-1. Lethbridge drops to 3-16-0. The game was the first of the second half of the Canada West men's hockey season for both teams.
The win also cemented Huskie head coach Dave Adolph in CIS history. With the win, Adolph tied legendary CIS coach Clare Drake for the most wins conference wins in CIS history at 377.
Zak Stebner opened the scoring on a Huskies' five-on-three power play. His quick shot from the point beat Ketlo at 7:56 in the first period. Spafford added the Huskies second goal at 14:50 on a tip in front of the net.
But just 33 seconds later the Pronghorns cut the lead in half with a shot off the post that landed on Ryon Moser's stick. He was able to slide it by Huskie goalie Ryan Holfeld at 15:23.
Lethbridge defenceman David McMullen tied the game at two at 8:49 on a scramble in front of the net in the second period. Less than two minutes later, Cason Machacek gave the 'Horns a 3-2 at 10:36.
Holfeld made 24 saves in the win for Saskatchewan, while Kelto stopped 35 at the other end of the ice for the 'Horns.
The two teams will close the weekend series Sunday. Puck drop is 7 p.m. at Rutherford Rink.
