Shirley recorded the Huskies first playoff hat trick since Feb. 19, 2016, helping the green-and-white pick up a Game 1 win. Shirley followed that effort up with an assist in Game 2, as Saskatchewan swept Manitoba to advance to the Canada West semifinal.
Huskie Athlete of the Week (Nov. 23, 2021):
Fourth-year forward Abby Shirley found the back of the net three times last weekend versus the Calgary Dinos, helping the Huskies earn the weekend sweep.
Shirley nabbed her first goal of the season Friday night against the Calgary Dinos off of a rebound shot from Bailee Bourassa to solidify the Huskies’ 2-0 victory.
The Delisle native then sniped two more past the Dinos goaltender on Saturday night.
Shirley's first of the night was a result of some precise passing from Kate Ball and Bailee Bourassa.
The second goal went top shelf, popping the water bottle off of the net. Shirley and the Huskies defeated the Calgary Dinos 8-1.
