#5 Saskatchewan (3-1) at Calgary Dinos (2-2), McMahon Stadium, 1:00 PM CST
Story Lines:
- Last week the Huskies handed the #5 Regina Rams a 22-20 loss, their first of the season, after holding the visiting team scoreless in a fourth quarter comeback
- Through the midway point of the season the Huskies are in the Canada West driver's seat, tied with the Rams at 3-1 for the best record in the conference but owning the all-important tie breaker
- This Saturday the Huskies take on the 2-2 Calgary Dinos who, after winning back-to-back games, suffered a narrow 23-22 defeat to UBC on the road after failing to convert a game-winning field goal as time expired
- Last season, the Huskies and Dinos met twice, with the Dogs recording a 44-40 double-overtime victory at Homecoming before handing Calgary a 16-11 home loss in week eight
- Despite major offseason changes, the Dinos have been one of the more competitive teams in the conference through four weeks having taken the Rams to OT in week one before playing three straight contests decided by four or fewer points
- With 155 yards in last week's win over the Rams, Daniel Wiebe took over as the conference's leading pass-catcher averaging 128.0 yards per game (3rd in U SPORTS)
- Quarterback Anton Amundrud also leads Canada West in his positional category, averaging 303.0 yards per game (3rd in U SPORTS) with nine touchdown passes (T-6th in U SPORTS)
- Saturday also marks the opportunity for Ryker Frank to secure another program record. With one touchdown, Frank can become the programs all-time leader in total touchdowns, passing current co-record holders Terry Eisler (20 rush, 10 rec) and Colton Klassen (7 rush, 23 rec). Frank already holds the Huskie record for career rushing touchdowns with 26
- With 7.5 total tackles Friday against the Rams, fifth-year linebacker Seth Hundeby moved into fourth all-time in Huskie history with 189.5 total tackles. Hundeby surpassed former teammate Lane Novak and now trails the all-time record held by Warren Muzika by just 31.5 tackles
