USask Huskies Announce Football Day in Saskatoon, presented by the Dakota Dunes Community Development Corporation

SASKATOON, Sask. – On Saturday, October 4, 2025, the campus of the University of Saskatchewan (USask) is set to play host to the inaugural Football Day in Saskatoon, presented by the Dakota Dunes Community Development Corporation (DDCDC), a one-day event designed to showcase the support of football at all levels across the Greater Saskatoon Region.

Joining the Football Day in Saskatoon festivities along with the Dakota Dunes Community Development Corporation is Operation Santa, a food-security initiative led BY community organizations FOR community organizations. Operation Santa provides hampers with clothing, food, essential items and gifts for families who need a helping hand during the holiday season. Operation Santa also invites you, your team, office, or family to Adopt-a-Family this holiday season. Let us know your level of commitment – whether you'd like to support one family or several, large or small - and we'll match you with a Saskatoon family to help make their holidays brighter. Your generosity uplifts our whole community.

On Saturday, October 4, for all flag football, SMF Kinsmen, and high school football games, fans are encouraged to make a cash, gift, and/or non-perishable donation to Operation Santa in leu of admission.
The Huskies will also be continuing their support of Operation Santa later this season, with drives being held at Huskie Basketball and Hockey games on November 28 and 29.

Football Day in Saskatoon will see Saskatoon Minor Football (SMF), the Saskatoon Secondary Schools Athletics Directorate (SSSAD), and RAWLCO Radio, the USask Huskies and Dakota Dunes Community Development Corporation partner to bring fans together from across the region for a day of games, activities, and community.

Kicking off at 9:00 AM, Football Day in Saskatoon will see more than 1,900 youth athletes compete in flag football games all day long. Griffiths Stadium will also feature SMF Kinsmen Tackle Football before a high school showdown between Mount Royal Collegiate and E.D. Feehan Catholic High School. Women's flag football will then take centre stage at Griffiths before setting up the day's grand finale.

The day then culminates with a Huskie Football game, presented by Wireless Age, under the lights of Griffiths Stadium and featuring a halftime fireworks celebration. For the young athletes across the city, all youth football players in Saskatoon and the surrounding region, in addition to those participating in the day's programming, will receive a $2 'Toonie Ticket' to attend the Huskie game.

Single-game and season tickets for all Huskie Football games are available now at HuskieTickets.com.

Highlighted throughout the afternoon and into the evening will be Co-op Rally Alley, running from 1:00-7:00 PM and featuring live music, food trucks, beer gardens, face painting, and a variety of games and family-friendly activities. Open to the entire community, Rally Alley is FREE to attend.

Fans can also expect special appearances from the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Saskatoon Valkyries, and Saskatoon Hilltops.
