Huskies Suffer Road Loss to Ranked Alberta

EDMONTON, Alta. - Alberta's Ryann Perrett scored the game-winner 12:37 into the first period, coupled with a 16-save shutout from Grace Glover was enough to lead Alberta to a 3-0 win over Saskatchewan on Friday night.

The win for the Pandas is their eighth-straight, and 14th in their last 15 games. It puts the 19-3-1 Pandas one win away from clinching the East Division, and securing a home semifinal series at Clare Drake Arena.

The shutout for Glover was her second-straight, and sixth in 12 starts this season. Remarkably, Glover has allowed just nine goals in 12 starts, and sports a conference-best 0.74 GAA and .959 save percentage.

Captain Izzy Lajoie and Abby Soyko also scored for Alberta, who outshot the struggling Huskies 45-19 in the win. The win is the fifth for the Pandas over the Huskies this season, and sixth-straight overall.

All but three Pandas finished with a shot on goal in Friday's victory, led by seven shots from Lajoie, and six from Jadynn Morden. Colby Wilson was stellar for the Huskies, making 42 saves, giving her 92 saves over her last two games.

After allowing nine shots against in the first, Alberta gave up just seven shots over the final two periods in a dominant performance. Lajoie potted her third of the season to double the Pandas lead, followed by an early third period goal from Soyko to ice the victory.

The two rivals will meet one final time this season tomorrow at 3:00 PM.
