The University of Saskatchewan Huskies held on for a 3-1 (25-23, 23-25, 25-17, 25-23) victory over the visiting Thompson Rivers University WolfPack Friday afternoon on Ron & Jane Graham Court at the PAC in Saskatoon. 

With the win, the Huskies improve to 7-16 in the final weekend of the Canada West women's volleyball. The WolfPack drop to 13-10. TRU has secured a spot in the conference's postseason but is looking to secure a home playoff date. 

Taylor Annala led the Huskies with 13 kills, while Marguerite Ferguson added another 11 and Emmalyn Copping 10. Copping completed the double-double adding 11 digs in the match. Jennifer Hueser led the Huskies' defensively with 15 digs, while Mackenzie Pek was impressive at setter quarterbacking 40 assists. She added five service aces, nine digs and three kills.

Kaitlin Lomas led the WolfPack with 12 kills in the match, while Rachel Windhorst added 10. Windhorst and Kendra Finch also recorded 11 digs each.

A tight match, the teams differed by just two points in three of the four sets including trading the first two at 25-23. 

TRU held the Huskies at set point three times in the fourth before a Copping kill secured the 25-17 win. 

Tied at 20 in the deciding set after a service error, Saskatchewan took a two-point lead causing the WolfPack to regroup with a timeout. The WolfPack kept the set close staying within one point but a block by Pek and Emily Humbert sealed the 25-23 win.

The two teams will meet again Saturday in the final match of the season. First serve is at 6:30 p.m.
