Box Score Six different University of Saskatchewan skaters scored to lift the Huskies to a 6-3 win over the No. 8 ranked Mount Royal University Cougars Saturday night in Saskatoon's Rutherford Rink.
Rookies Michael Sofillas and Cameron Blair tallied in the win, as well as veterans Matthew Spafford, Connor Cox, Craig McCallum and Jesse Ross. Both Sofillas and McCallum finished the night with one goal and two assists.
The win snaps a seven game losing streak for the Huskies and improves the team to 5-7-0. Mount Royal is 7-5-0 after the weekend split on the road. A night earlier, the Cougars won 4-1.

Special teams proved to be the difference with four power play goals and one shorthanded goal scored in the game between the two teams.
Despite the high score, the game was only 1-0 after the first period. Sofillas had opened the scoring at 17:31.
The Cougars and Huskies traded five goals in the second period – three by Saskatchewan and two for Mount Royal. Four of the goals were scored in the first 10 minutes of the 20 minute period.
Mount Royal's Cody Cartier tied the game just 1:01 into the first period with a power play marker. The Cougars had the man advantage after Kendall McFaull was caught for roughing at the end of the first period. Saskatchewan didn't take long to respond with Blair's goal at 5:56 and Spafford's just three minutes later at 8:11 on the power play for the 3-1 lead.
Matthew Brown pulled the Cougars within one again at 9:57 with another power play goal. But Cox restored Saskatchewan's two-goal lead at 17:03 with a shorthanded goal.
McCallum extended the lead to three goals at 5:57 in the third period with Saskatchewan's second power play goal. Cartier added another goal for the Cougars at 7:36, but Ross quickly answered at 13:52 to seal the win.
Cam Lanigan finished the game making 22 saves for the Cougars in the loss, while rookie netminder Jordon Cooke made 26 saves at the other end of the ice for Saskatchewan.
The Huskies will meet provincial rival the Regina Cougars in a home-and-home next weekend, while Mount Royal will do the same with the Lethbridge Pronghorns.
