All five members of the Huskies team were accomplished tennis players at both the intervarsity and provincial levels.
At the WCIAA championship in Winnipeg, they won the Bert Smith-Jones Trophy. They then left for the national championships at McGill University in Montreal. The Huskies team came within an eyelash of winning the title, separated from the championship by just one set. During the competition, they defeated two eastern players who had been on Canada's team for Davis Cup action.
