Bernice (Beardall) Stewart enrolled at the University of Saskatchewan (B.A., 1940) in 1936.
She was amember of the basketball team for four years and was captain of the team in 1937.
In track & field, Bernice competed in javelin, baseball throw and long jump. At the 1939 meet, she broke the intervarsity record in javelin and finished first in the ball throw.
As well as competing in two varsity sports, she was president of the Women's Athletic Directorate and vice president of the Students Representative Council.
