Aldis (Peterson) Carson, a native of Wynyard and a graduate of Nutana Collegiate in Saskatoon, enrolled at the University of Saskatchewan (Dip. P.E., 1944) in 1941.
She was an outstanding forward on the basketball team and captain of the squad for two seasons.
As a member of the tennis team, Aldis was runner-up in singles in the 1944 WCIAA championship.
In addition to her participation in athletics, Aldis was secretary of the Women's Athletic Directorate and became the first president of the Women's Athletic Board. She was a cheerleader for two years and served as vice-president of the Students' Representative Council in 1944-45.
She was awarded the prestigious Spirt of the Youth Trophy in 1944-45 for leadership, sportsmanship, athletics and academics among University athletes.
She married Fred (Bud) Carson, also an inductee in the University of Saskatchewan Athletic Wall of Fame.
