Huskie Athlete of the Week (April 3, 2017):

Astrid Nyame was named Huskie Athletics Female Athlete of the Year.

The fifth-year struck gold at both the Canada West and U SPORTS championships in the 60-metre hurdles. On the national stage, she secured her first-ever gold medal at the event crossing the finish line in 8.31 seconds. The time is the second-best in program history.  In her final year of eligibility, Nyame was undefeated in four conference meets, as well as finished third on the North American stage at the prestigious Armoury Track & Field Event in New York.

Huskie Athlete of the Week (March 13, 2017):

Fifth-year hurdler Astrid Nyame was crowned champion at the U SPORTS track & field championship in Edmonton the weekend.

The Arts & Science student from Saskatoon finished ontop of the podium in the 60-metre hurdles clocking in at 8.31 in the national championship race. The gold medal adds to her Canada West first place finish earlier this season and improves upon her 2016 national silver medal.

Huskie Athlete of the Week (February 6, 2017):

Fifth-year hurdler Astrid Nyame finished with a bronze medal at the prestigious Armor Games in New York on the weekend.

After winning her 60-metre hurdles semifinal with the second fastest time overall, Nyame clocked in at 8.30 for the third place finish. The time puts her first in seeding in U SPORTS.
