SASKATOON – Fifth-year midfielder Erica Hindmarsh led the University of Saskatchewan Huskies to a 3-0 victory over the visiting University of Lethbridge Pronghorns Sunday afternoon on Field 7 in Saskatoon's PotashCorp Park recording one goal and two assists.

Hindmarsh opened the scoring in the 11th minute when her long-range shot from a free kick bent into the top corner of the net.

The Huskies scored quickly in the second half scoring in the 46th and 50th minutes. Hindmarsh sent cross plays into the box. The first landed on the foot of Rebecca Weckworth and the second on the foot of Taneil Gay.

With the win, Saskatchewan improves to 4-3-1. Lethbridge drops to 2-6.

Huskie keeper Kyleigh Vause made three saves in the match, while Paige Gattanfoni made seven at the other end of the pitch for Lethbridge. Saskatchewan outshot the 'Horns 24-6.

The Huskies will meet provincial rival the Regina Cougars in a home-and-home next weekend, while Lethbridge plays in a home-and-home with the Calgary Dinos.

Match Notes: Sunday marked an annual Play For The Cure match for the women's soccer team. In 2016, the Huskies raised money for the Canadian Cancer Society and wore special purple jerseys.
