  1. The Huskies will have plenty of offensive firepower to draw from as they retrun their top four scorers from a season ago.
  2. The Huskies have opened the last five consecutive seasons with a win. 
  3. Saskatchewan completed a perfect 4-0 non-conference schedule allowing just one goal over that stretch.
  4. After enjoying a bye on the first weekend of the regular season, the Huskies will visit both Calgary based schools on their opening weekend.
  5. The opening weekend in Calgary will be mirrored at the end of the 2016 schedule when Mount Royal and Calgary visit Saskatoon to close the regular season. 

By The Numbers

9 - A total of 9 new recruits will don the green and white this season.  

14 - Tyler Redl was a constant threat to strike with a team-high 14 shots on goal in 2015. 

27 - The Huskies combined to score 27 goals during the 2015 campaign.

1035 - Goalkeeper Greg Buckley retruns to the pitch after playing over 1000 minutes between the posts for the Huskies last season. 

Scouting The Dinos

Calgary opened their season with a weekend split on August 24-25. The Dinos were shut out 1-0 on the road against the Alberta Golden Bears to open their 2016 campaign. Calgary rebounded for a 4-0 win over the MacEwan Griffins on Thursday to even their record at 1-1. 

Dominic Russo scored twice in the win for the Dinos, with Kieran Lane-Oppenheim and Lindon Fedorick each adding a goal. 

The Dinos, who finished first in the Prairie Division in 2015 were picked third in the Canada West Preseason Coaches Poll. 

Scouting The Cougars

Mount Royal opened its season with a weekend split on the road in Edmonton. The Cougars started the campaign with a 2-1 victory over the MacEwan Girffins, before falling 1-0 against the Alberta Golden Bears.

Darius Ramsay and Tyrin Hutchings each scored in last Wednesday's win.

The Cougars, who finished third in the Prairie Division in 2015 were picked to finishg eigth in the Canada West Preseason Coaches Poll.
