WINNIPEG - A last minute goal by fifth year forward Amos Ganyea gave the Winnipeg Wesmen a 2-2 draw against the University of Saskatchewan Huskies Sunday afternoon at the Winnipeg Soccer Complex in Winnipeg.

Ganyea took a pass from Hamza Mustapha in extra time of the second half and made no mistake beating Huskies goalkeeper Greg Buckley to tie the match.

The visiting Huskies, looking for the series sweep after posting a 4-1 victory in Saturday's opener, once again struck early in the contest.

Second year midfielder Tyler Redl converted a pin point pass from Avery Michael in the 2nd minute of play to give the Huskies a quick 1-0 lead. After the early goal, Winnipeg was able to settle down and control the play keeping the ball on Saskatchewan's half of the field.

Winnipeg had a glorious chance to tie the score in the 36th minute. First year defender Aaron Hidalgo-Mazzei beat the Huskies goalkeeper on a free kick but his shot rang off the post. The two teams went into the halftime break with Saskatchewan holding on to a 1-0 lead.

The Wesmen started the second half putting extreme pressure on the Huskies. Richard Rundle had a clear shot on net in the 50th minute but Buckley managed to make the save.

The Huskies found some breathing room soon after. Michael beat Wesmen goalkeeper Logan Grzenda in the 61st minute to extend the Saskatchewan lead to 2-0.

Winnipeg hit the scoreboard in the 79th minute. A perfect shot on a free kick by Enrique Garcea found the back of the net to cut the Huskies lead to 2-1.

The Wesmen continued to put relentless pressure on the Huskies and were rewarded by Ganyea's heroics in extra time.

Winnipeg had 15 total shots in the contest, Saskatchewan countered with eight.

Buckley made six saves for the Huskies. Grzenda made four saves for Winnipeg.

Saskatchewan (3-2-1) will be home next week to Calgary on Friday and Mount Royal on Sunday. Winnipeg (1-4-1) will play host to the Alberta Golden Bears on Friday and Saturday at 6:00 p.m. at the Winnipeg Soccer Complex.
