Harmsworth Nets OT Winner For Men's Hockey; Wapple Earns First Win

WINNIPEG- University of Saskatchewan rookie defenceman Colby Harmsworth tallied in overtime to lift the No. 2 ranked Huskies to a 2-1 win over the University of Manitoba Bisons Friday night at Wayne Fleming Arena in Winnipeg. 

Harmsworth wired a one-timer by Bisons' net minder Byron Spriggs for the win.  

With the road win, Saskatchewan improves to 9-2-2 on the season and Manitoba falls to a record of 5-7-1.

Nick Zajac scored just 13 seconds into the game to give the Bisons an early lead. The Huskies answered with a power play goal from defender, Jesse Forsberg, as he managed to beat Manitoba goalie Spriggs, high over his glove to tie the game 1-1. 

Spriggs made 33 saves in the game for Manitoba, while Daniel Wapple stopped 25 shots to earn his first Canada West win. 

The two teams will meet again Saturday night. Puck drop is at 7 p.m.
