REGINA, Sask. - The University of Regina men's hockey team was on the losing end of a 4-1 decision at The Co-operators Centre on Friday night, as the visiting Huskies took the win on ShineOn night.

Kendall McFaull notched a powerplay marker for the lone goal of the first frame, taking a feed from behind the net from Michael Sofillas and netting his third of the season with a well-placed shot. Logan McVeigh also assisted on the goal.

The Huskies added two more in the second to take a three goal lead, as Jesse Forsberg and Tanner Lishchynsky were able to beat Andy Desautels. Forsberg's goal was a shorthanded marker that was set up by Andrew Johnson and Kohl Bauml. Bauml also assisted on Lishchynsky's goal, feeding one into the slot to set up a low shot that beat Desautels.

Landon Peel got the Cougars on the board early in the third period, launching a wrist shot from the point that beat a screened Jordan Cooke high to the glove side. Ian McNulty notched a helper, but the 3-1 deficit was as close as the Cougars would get. Parker Thomas ripped a wrist shot to the high corner later in the third to seal the win for Saskatchewan.

Cooke was nearly perfect on the night, making 25 saves for his fifth win of the young Canada West season. Desautels was busy at the other end of the ice, stopping 33 shots in the loss.

The Cougars (1-4-0) and Huskies will face off again on Saturday, heading north to Saskatoon for a 7 p.m. puck drop at the Rutherford Rink.
