University of Saskatchewan cross country athletes Tye Buettner and Riley Magee had the top finishes for the Huskies at the annual Cougar Trot Saturday in Regina.
Buettner finished the five-kilometre race in a time of 19:56.75 to finish eighth, while Magee finished the men's eight-kilometre race in 28:12.62 to finish seventh.
Anne Charles had the next best time for the Huskies finishing at 20:47.50 for 14th place. Robert Bigsby was the next best on the men’s side with a 10th place finish, clocking in at 28:23.21.
Other Huskies competing for the women's team included Shannon Del Bigio (21:21.25, 16th), Jayme Nagy (21:23.78, 17th), Jayden Matsalla (21:28.62, 18th), Joanne Traves (21:31.09, 19th), Cara Wirachowsky (21:29.47, 21st), Brandey Blahut (21:40.52, 22nd), Denise Humphreys (21:50.56, 23rd), Katrin Ritchie (22:14.12, 25th), Morgyn Olmstead (22:21.28, 26th), Ashley Palmer (21:13.56, 28th), Devon Borrowman (22:37.47, 29th) and Morgan Lypka (23:37.47, 30th).
Reid Balezantis (28:25.09, 11th), Taryn Heidecker (28:25.40, 12th), Eric Mueller (29:12.03, 14th), Alex Senger (29:42.84, 17th), Mackenzie Dawson (31:30.72, 22nd) and Mason Stott (33:39.94, 23rd) competed for the men.
The Huskies will race for the lone time at home this season on October 5 in the UofS Open.
