RON MacLEAN TO SPEAK AT SASKTEL SPONSORED CIS AWARDS GALA2013-01-16

The 2013 CIS PotashCorp University Cup presented by Co-op Host Committee is proud to announce CBC Hockey Night in Canada legend Ron MacLean as the keynote speaker for the CIS Awards Gala.
 
Presented by SaskTel, the awards gala takes place on Wednesday, March 13 at TCU Place. The gala includes a cocktail reception, awards program to announce the CIS Major Awards and All-Canadians, a three-course served meal and stories and insights behind the scenes of the game of hockey as only told by MacLean. Local comedian Kelly Taylor will emcee the event.
 
“The host executive committee, Huskie Athletics and the University of Saskatchewan are excited to have a hockey legend as part of this special event during our Five Day Hockey Holiday,” said Jim Rhode, VP of Special Events. “No one in Canada knows more about hockey than Ron MacLean and for him to share his stories with our fans, partners and athletes will create extraordinary memories. MacLean is a Canadian sportscaster best known as the host of Hockey Night in Canada. His broadcasting career began in 1978 at a radio station in Red Deer, Alta. He began with Hockey Night in Canada in 1986-87. MacLean has won eight Gemini Awards for his work with CBC including Best Sports Broadcaster and Best Host. His colour commentary on Hockey Night in Canada, alongside Don Cherry, makes him one of the most sought after speakers in the country.
