WRIGHT CONSTRUCTION BRINGS IN DAVE KING TO HONOUR COACHES2013-02-04
The host executive committee for the 2013-14 CIS men’s hockey PotashCorp University Cup presented by Co-op is pleased to announce that Wright Construction will support a special brunch to honour Saskatchewan Minor Hockey League coaches on Saturday, March 16th 10 am at the Radisson Hotel, with special guest former University Cup champion, member of the Order of Canada and National Hockey League coach Dave King.
Thanks Coach is an opportunity for minor hockey teams to send their coach(es) to an exclusive brunch to hear from NHL coach Dave King. “I’ve always believed that if you learn something, you should share it,” said Dave King who coached the Canadian men’s national hockey team for 9 years. “I want to make the game better and I want kids to enjoy it longer regardless of achievement. So ultimately, if coaches do better and kids have more fun, I think that can happen.”
Following the brunch, the coaches will join their players at the Saturday afternoon game of the PotashCorp University Cup presented by Co-op, which will include a special tribute to the participating coaches. “We believe minor hockey helps kids throughout their lives and it’s the coaches that allow that opportunity,” said Lorne Wright, President of Wright Construction. “We want to celebrate the coaches and give them a chance to hear from one of the best, while offering them a chance to see a national championship game with their players.”
“A long time supporter of Huskie men’s hockey, Wright Construction has once again demonstrated its commitment to our community,” said Grant Kook, Chair of the PotashCorp University Cup presented by Co-op. “Bringing in Huskie legend and NHL coach Dave King will give these dedicated coaches a personalized glimpse into the world of the NHL and coaching in general, which will ultimately benefit their players.”
In support of the Thanks Coach Brunch and game, a special Team Pak can be purchased for $250.00. Packages include 3 coaches’ tickets to the luncheon plus up to 17 players and 3 coaches for the game! Each coach will be recognized in a special publication at the championships for their great work in our community, building the stars of the future.
