LEVIS NAMED CANADA WEST ALL-STAR2012-11-02

University of Saskatchewan Huskie men’s soccer striker Brett Levis was honoured by the Canada West Friday by being named an all-star.

Levis, a second-year Saskatoon native, was named a Canada West First Team All-Stars. It is the second straight season that Levis was named a conference all-star.

Leading his team to a postseason spot for the second time in three seasons, Levis finished second in Canada West scoring with nine goals and six assists. He started all but one match for the Huskies, taking 69 shots in the season.

In 2012-13, the Huskies finished second in the Canada West Prairie Division with a 6-5-4 record, starting the season with a six game undefeated streak. Saskatchewan secured a spot in the postseason in the final minute on the last weekend of play on a game-winning goal by Levis in the 90th minute.

Levis is now eligible to be named a CIS All-Canadian next week at the CIS Championship hosted by Laval University.
