TRACK & FIELD SCHEDULE RELEASED2012-06-15
The University of Saskatchewan Huskie cross country, wrestling and track
& field teams will look to build toward the grand prize Canada West
and CIS Championships in 2012-13.
Each team will compete in a
series of meets hosted by Canada West schools to prepare for the
conference and national championships. The Huskie cross country and
wrestling teams will compete in Saskatoon each once, while track &
field is at home twice.
Track & Field
The
Huskie women’s track & field team enters the season looking to
defend their third Canada West title in the last four seasons, while the
men, who fielded a young team in 2011-12, look to continue to grow.
Saskatchewan
competes at home on January 12 at the Prairie Dual, a dual-format meet
with provincial rival Regina Cougars. They also compete at hom in the
45th annual Sled Dog Open on January 25-26.
Other meets for the
track & field team include the Golden Bear Open January 18-19, the
Bison Classic February 1-2 and the Queen City Indoor Games February 8-9.
Regina hosts the Canada West Championship February 22-23, while Alberta will host the CIS Championship March 7-9.
