The Brandon University Bobcats hit the PAC Friday & Saturday night.
Winners in nine of 10 games, the No. 4 ranked Huskies look to remain amongst the leaders in the conference.
Saskatchewan (9-4) enters the weekend after a sweep over the UBC Okanagan Heat and Thompson Rivers WolfPack winning 92-55 and 70-62 and extending their win streak to four. The Huskies sit third in the Prairie Division. On the weekend, rookie post Dalyce Emmerson continued to turn heads recording her fourth straight double double and seventh of the season.
Two-time CIS Defensive Player of the Year Miyazaki leads the Huskies, and sits fourth in conference scoring, with 16.6 points per game and averages 7.5 rebounds per game. Emmerson has made a big impression on the Canada West sitting second in the conference in rebounding with 10 boards per game and chipping in 12.7 points per night.
Brandon’s had a rough road in 2011-12 scoring just 507 points on the season and winless in 14 games. The Bobcats’ game-high is 58 points and have scored 30 or less five times. Aimee Johnston has been the strongest for the Bobcats averaging 11.8 points per game and 8.5 rebounds. Jaynell Gillett has also chipped in with 8.1 points per game and 5.7 boards.
Since 2003-04, the Huskies are 15-1 against the Bobcats. Brandon’s lone win came 65-62 in November 2003 in Saskatoon.
