University of Saskatchewan Huskie Breanne George was named a CIS Second Team All-Canadian Wednesday.

George finished the season with a team-high 15 goals and 15 assists in 20 games putting her second in the conference. Throughout the season she has been a thorn in opponent’s backs scoring multiple goals in four games this season including four in one weekend against the Calgary Dinos. For her season, she was named a Canada West First Team All-Star.

The fourth-year Saskatoon native missed four games while representing Canada at the World University Winter Games in Turkey. While with Canada, George led the team in scoring with 12 points. She was named Canada West Female Athlete of the Week once, as well as Huskie Athletics Female Athlete of the Week once. She sat second in game winning goals in the CIS with five and third in shots with 111.

"We're very proud of Breanne's accomplishments this year,” said Huskie head coach Steve Kook. “From being chosen to represent Canada at the FISU Games in Turkey to finishing in the top three in scoring in Canada West, Breanne's been one of our most consistent players over the past couple of years."

In her Canada West career, she was named the 2009-10 Canada West MVP and became the first-ever Huskie women’s hockey All-Canadian in that same year.
