Tom LaPointe

Tom LaPointe joined the Huskies in the 2007-08 season. He is the technical director of Eastside Youth Soccer Association. In this position he has created an extensive coaching manual for all youth coaches, a player development program for youth players, a mentorship program for coaches who require higher certification, and a program to increase awareness of Eastside soccer in community associations within the Eastside district

With over 20 years of coaching experience, LaPointe has demonstrated his versatility with various age groups, ranging from under-6 boys and girls to men’s and women’s teams. Four of his girls’ teams qualified for national club competition, with two under-18 teams finishing fourth

LaPointe has been an instructor with the Saskatoon Youth Soccer Association, involved with player and coaching development through coaching at various clinics.

Over 10 years ago, he developed the first player academy for community association players in Saskatoon. As a head coach with the Saskatchewan Soccer Association, LaPointe was responsible for player and coaching staff selections for five years in the all-star female program.
